Right from his first short film James Lees quickly established himself as one of the UK's brightest filmmaking talents, picking up a string of prestigious international awards and a nomination at the European Film Academy Awards. Since then his films have received many more awards and plaudits and repeatedly been in Official Selection at prestigious festivals such as Sundance, AFI and the Los Angeles Film Festival and at over 100 other festivals as diverse and far afield as Mexico, China and Australia. 

Off the back of this success James was snapped up by highly acclaimed UK production company Warp Films and established himself as a highly successful television, commercials and music video director, working with stars including Emma Watson and clients such as the BBC (James' first mainstream commercial for the BBC garnered both huge acclaim and controversy, industry magazine SHOTS naming it their ‘Hotshot Of The Week’), Bacardi (whose global campaign 'True Originals' he headed up over the period of a year) and received nominations for the Best Rock Video at the 2010 UK MVA's.
