Jason Harrington is a visual director with a great command of casting and an incredible range spanning subtle dark, wry humor to epic landscapes and intimate portraits. Embracing a somewhat cinematic approach, Harrington’s work masterfully utilizes the bare essentials of location and lighting in a developing narrative potential. In his highly considered images he brings a lyrical sensibility that makes moments of the everyday absolutely exceptional. 

Harrington was born in Croydon, London, England. A graduate of St. Martin’s School of Art in London, where he studied Graphics and Photography. Harrington started his career in 1989 as a director/designer in the BBC’s presentation graphic design group. After four years creating graphics, which included the on-screen Idents for BBC 2, and title sequences/show opens for both channels, Harrington relocated to New York in 1995 to direct on-air promotions for MTV and VH1. Later in that same year, Tony Kaye Films signed him for exclusive commercial representation while continuing his relationship with MTV for promo work. However, as a result of continuous board flow, Harrington left MTV to take on full representation with the company in London and Los Angeles.

Early in 1999, Harrington joined Propaganda for representation in America, and Academy in London. Shortly after the demise of Propaganda in 2003, the New York-based Harrington secured representation with Believe Media, in the U.S. and London.

To this day, he has worked steadily, completing jobs for clients such as BMW, SAAB, Pfizer, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Dunlop, T.Rowe Price, Martini (featuring Gwyneth Paltrow), Saturn, Toyota, Gatorade, LiuJo Jeans, Nivea, Fragrance commercials for Bvlgari (Italy) and Dunhill (London) as well as PSA’s for the Red Cross and the blind, amongst many others.

His work has been recognized by many of the leading advertising award festivals, including the British D&AD, BDA awards, Chicago International Television and Film Festivals, The Mobius advertising awards, The International Monitor Awards amongst others.

In 2011 Harrington joined Paydirt for exclusive commercial representation where he is to date.
